Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2025-01-18T15:48Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2025-01-18T15:48:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: N04W44
Active Region Number: 13964
Note Keyword:
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
GAP: Data gap
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: CME seen to the NW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3, not STEREO COR2A due to a data gap. This CME front is quite faint and diffuse. The source may be a dimming eruption from AR 3964 (N04W44) starting around 2025-01-18T13:10Z with a second pulse of field line movement and brightening around T13:51Z in SDO AIA 171, with some dimming in SDO AIA 193. This unclean eruption may explain the diffuse nature of the CME. CME follows and partially overlaps with CME: 2025-01-18T15:12Z.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type
